A Match for the Patch
Finding two colours that are the same · ages 3-6
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Hold up a coloured object and have children point to something in the room that's the same colour.
2. The game, on the projector
Children take turns to flip two patches while the class remembers where each colour was. Each colour has its own pattern too.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
Sock pairs: a basket of odd socks or colour cards for small groups to match up.
Questions to ask
- Which one is the same as this one?
- How do you know they match?
- Can you remember where you saw that colour?
