Copyright
© 2018–2026 Film Me Pty Ltd (ABN 57 612 132 395). All rights reserved.
Film Me Pty Ltd owns the copyright in Little Roos and everything made for it, or uses it under licence. That includes:
- the games, books, stories, tours, lessons, Talk and the website itself, and their code and design
- the Little Roos animals and every other picture, drawing, illustration, 3D model and animation
- the words: stories, questions, lessons, guides and every line the animals say
- the voices, music and sounds
- the printable sheets, cards, books and class packs
The only exceptions are the outside materials listed at the bottom of this page, which keep their own licences.
Trade marks
Little Roos, with its kangaroo, is a registered trade mark of Film Me Pty Ltd (Australian trade mark No. 1966452). The Little Roos name, logo and animal characters may not be used for any product, service, business or website without our written permission, or in any way that suggests we made, own or endorse something we don't.
What you may do, free
We give families, carers, teachers, early-childhood educators and therapists a free, personal, non-exclusive licence, which we can withdraw, to:
- use the site and play everything on it with children
- print the sheets, cards, books and class packs, and copy them on paper, for your own children or the children you teach or care for
- show the site on a screen, smartboard or projector to a class or group
- save a copy of your child's things and Talk boards, and share a Talk board with your child's speech pathologist
- link to any page
This is all for non-commercial use: nobody is charged for it, directly or as part of something else.
What you may not do
Unless we say yes in writing, you may not:
- sell, rent, license or charge for anything from Little Roos, or put it in a product, course, book, app or resource that is sold
- copy, download or re-host the site or any part of it on another website, app, platform or shared drive, or show it inside another site or app
- take out, change or adapt the animals, pictures, models, voices, music or words, or make your own versions of them
- use anything from Little Roos to train, test or improve an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system, or collect it with an automated tool
- remove or change any copyright, trade mark or credit notice
To ask about anything else, such as using Little Roos in a published resource, write to roo@littleroos.com.au.
Outside materials, and their own licences
A few things on the site were made by others, and they're shared under their own licences. Our copyright doesn't cover them, and you may use them as their licences allow:
- Talk's picture symbols are Mulberry Symbols by Steve Lee, with symbols drawn by Little Roos to match them (including the feelings faces used in Koala's Calm Down). They are shared under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0, and so is a Talk board you save.
- Out There's planet and star maps come from NASA and the USGS (not under copyright) and from Solar System Scope (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0). Each lesson's guide credits every map. Nothing here means NASA, the USGS or Solar System Scope endorses Little Roos.
- The Earth's map in Sky and Seasons is from Natural Earth (public domain).
- Talk's on-device voices use the Kokoro voice model (Apache License 2.0), ONNX Runtime Web (MIT) and phonemizer.js, which includes eSpeak NG (GPL-3.0; source at github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng and github.com/xenova/phonemizer.js). The full notices are in Talk's licence file.
- The 3D pages use three.js and Astronomy Engine (both MIT).
- The fonts: SC Gum Kids is licensed from SickCapital; Montserrat and Edu NSW ACT Foundation are shared under the SIL Open Font License.
- Facts are checked against the sources linked on each grown-ups' page. Those pages and their words belong to their owners.
If you think something here is yours
If you believe something on Little Roos uses your work without permission, write to roo@littleroos.com.au and tell us what and where it is. We'll look at it quickly and take it down while we do, if that's needed.
