Spelling Bee
Putting letters in order until they make a word · ages 5-8
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Say a short word slowly, one sound at a time (c … a … t), and have the class say the whole word back.
2. The game, on the projector
The class sounds out the word together, and a helper drags each letter into its slot in order.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
Magnetic or cut-out letters: in pairs, build three words from the game, then one of their own.
