Lorikeet's Opposites
Opposites: big and small, full and empty, up and down · ages 3-6
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Simon says, with opposites: "Stand up! Sit down! Hands up high! Hands down low!"
2. The game, on the projector
Before each tap, the class shows the answer with their bodies (big arms for big, curled up for small), then a helper taps it.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
Opposites hunt: pairs of children find two things in the room that are opposites (a full box and an empty one) and show the class.
Questions to ask
- What's the opposite of up?
- Can you find something big and something small in this room?
- Is the bath water hot or cold today?
