Koala's Calm-Down
Calming down with slow breathing, then naming how you feel · ages 3-7
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Sit in a circle. Breathe in while you count to four, and out while you count to four. Do it three times.
2. The game, on the projector
Breathe with the koala together, lights low if you can, then ask a few children to show how they feel.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
Teddy breathing: lie down with a soft toy on your tummy and watch it rise and fall.
Questions to ask
- How does your body feel after breathing slowly?
- What might make you feel that way?
- What helps you when you feel like that?
