Frog's Big Change
Life cycles: put the stages in order, from egg to frog and egg to butterfly · ages 4-7
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Grow like a frog: curl up small (an egg), wriggle (a tadpole), kick out your back legs, then your front legs, then jump!
2. The game, on the projector
Show the mixed-up pictures on the board. Children call out what comes first, and a helper drags it into place. Then step through "Watch it grow" together and check.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
The Frog's Big Change sheet: cut out the pictures and glue them round the circle in order.
Questions to ask
- What does a tadpole grow first, its back legs or its front legs?
- Where does a butterfly lay her eggs?
- Can you think of something else that changes as it grows? (You did!)
