Flying Fox's Story Order
Putting a story's pictures in order: first, next and last · ages 4-7
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Act out a three-step story together (wake up, stretch, eat breakfast), then do it in the wrong order. Which way works?
2. The game, on the projector
Read the story together first. Then show the muddled pictures and let the class call out "first!", "next!", "last!" while a helper taps.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
Story strips: children draw three boxes (first, next, last) for a story they know and tell it to a partner.
Questions to ask
- What happened first in the story?
- What happened just before the end?
- What do you think happened after the story finished?
