Butterfly's Weather
Weather words, and what to wear: sunny and rainy, windy and calm, hot and cold · ages 3-6
1. Warm-up, 5 minutes
Weather actions: sunny (arms up wide), rainy (fingers fall like rain), windy (sway), cold (shiver), hot (fan your face).
2. The game, on the projector
Look out of the window and tell the weather together in Today's Weather, then play a round on the board: children call out which picture, and a helper taps it.
Projector mode is the game with ?projector on the end of its address. It's big and landscape, a win waits for you to press Next, and nothing is saved on the computer: no progress, no animal cards, no login.
3. Away from the screen
Draw yourself dressed for today's weather, and keep a class weather chart for the week.
Questions to ask
- What's the weather like right now?
- What would you wear on a windy day?
- Why do we wear a hat in the sun?
