Where it fits
In the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 (birth to five) and the Australian Curriculum v9 (Foundation to Year 2), with the official wording:
- AC9AVAFC01 (Australian Curriculum v9: Visual Arts, Foundation): create arts works that communicate ideas.
- AC9AVAFD01 (Australian Curriculum v9: Visual Arts, Foundation): use play, imagination, arts knowledge, processes and/or skills to discover possibilities and develop ideas.
Games that practise it
- Make a Plate Face: Counting, and playing with food's colours and shapes: make a funny face on a plate, counted out loud. Ages 3-6.
- Draw and Colour: Something to make.
