The Milky Way and other galaxies

The Sun is one of more than a hundred billion stars in our spiral galaxy, the Milky Way, about two-thirds of the way out from the middle; from inside it looks like a misty band across the night sky; from Australia you can see two other galaxies, the Magellanic Clouds, with your eyes; galaxies are spiral, elliptical or irregular; Andromeda is the nearest big galaxy; there are about two trillion galaxies.
