Asteroids and comets are leftovers from when the planets formed: rocky asteroids, mostly in a belt between Mars and Jupiter (Vesta the biggest, Bennu visited by OSIRIS-REx); icy comets that grow a head and two tails near the Sun, tails pointing away from it; Halley's Comet; shooting stars and meteor showers.
